Our Wedding: Lovely custom necklace from Make Pie Not War

When I started thinking about what I was going to wear when we had our photos taken for our wedding shots I knew that I wanted Alana of Make Pie Not War to make me something. I first met Alana at a convention a few years ago and I bought a wonderful necklace from her which I still love to wear. Over the past three or four years I have splurged for myself and bought a few items from her Etsy shop and I love every single one of them.

When I messaged Alana and asked her to make the necklace for me she seemed more than happy to help. Her and I discussed what I wanted and the result was the lovely two tiered necklace you see above. All I had asked was that my first initial "N" be included in the top tier, and my new last initial "C" be included in the bottom tier.  I really like the locket and the all of the other sweet little details. This special necklace was the perfect accent to my dress and made me feel so special.

What once was long...now is GONE!

For the past two years I have been trying to grow my hair out. It's been a slow process since, well with hair as curly as mine it takes FOREVER to grow any substantial length. My hair would grow two inches and only look like it grew 1/2 an inch. But, I was determined to at least give it a shot and I didn't cut it once last year. (Minus a couple of trims here and there.)

It's been driving me crazy for quite some time. Although I enjoy my hair, (I've never been one of those curly haired girls who wished for straight hair,) it's a lot of work. A lot of time and products go into making it look like it does and I decided it was time to let some of it go. I talked to Mr. Coleman about it and although he prefers my hair longer, he agreed that I should cut it if I want to because "you will look beautiful no matter what it looks like." (He's a keeper!) So it went from long...to...

...really short! And I couldn't be happier! It feels so wonderful to have no hair on my neck and to use way less shampoo AND I think Mr. Coleman might even like it better than my longer hair. It's pretty short all around. What you see on the short side in the pics is actually the same on both sides and in the back. I feel renewed and I'm really happy about the change.

Manicure...yes please!

Thanks to bloglovin' I saw this awesome manicure tutorial on the cherry blossom girl, and I just had to try it. (Side note...isn't her dress just lovely? And that ring...I DIE!)

After reading the tutorial I realized and that it was pretty simple and easily achieved so I set out to try for myself. Here's what I came up with...

Not bad, right? It's a pretty simple, silly little blog post but I just wanted to share because it was SO simple and I'm loving looking at my pretty green nails!

Now it's off to finish a couple of craft projects!
