Lunch Pail Pictures, @LunchPailPic

I always love when I get the chance to share about my amazing and talented friends! Today, it's Candice (Candice_) and Geoff (@geoffgiant) of Lunch Pail Pictures. I asked Candice some questions about Lunch Pail and here's what she had to say.

What is Lunch Pail Pictures?
Lunch Pail Pictures is a husband/wife team with a fresh new look on wedding cinematography. We create films with a journalistic approach because we want to show a couple's real love and who they really are behind closed doors. We want to create a film that tells the your story as you remembered it!

When did you realize that this is what you wanted to do?

I've (Candice) always known i wanted to do something with film. Its my passion and something I truly love working with. After working in the wedding industry for a few years and getting engaged both Geoff and I started looking around for a videographer for our wedding but we couldn't find anyone who fit us style wise. That's when we decided this is something we would love to do. We love Love. We love people. And we love creating something beautiful and fun with others about their love story.

How do you like working with your husband? Do you think this makes you better videographers?

No. I LOVE working with my husband! We kinda have telekinesis. Wish that worked for when I want a massage, but we're getting there! haha  But seriously, its so great being married to someone who is equally as passionate and in love with what we do. Just helps make us the ultimate team!

What's your favorite moment you've captured on film so far?

hmmm... that's a toughy. It's hard to pick favorites because we would never make a film we aren't totally into. This year we have some amazing couples we have the pleasure of working with and we just couldnt be more excited to share them with you too!

Where do you want to go with Lunch Pail Pictures?
We want to grow but still be a smaller studio. I never want to get to the size where we have to outsource editing or cant meet and connect with our couples.

What's the funniest moment you've experienced so far?
During a wedding ceremony we have the groom mic'd and one of us is listening with headphones to make sure we're recording great audio. Well one time when the couple was supposed to be praying together the bride started telling the groom how bad she had to poop! So hard to hold my laughter! But we all laughed about it after the ceremony when she asked if we heard her.

Friends of knitcole update! @kretzu, @losliferuiner and @_Bren_

Friends of knitcole - Chris Kretzu (@kretzu)

Here we go again! It's time to mention another Friend of knitcole! Today's friend is Chris Kretzu.

Chris and I have been friends for what feels like FOREVER! I'm kidding. He's been a great friend to me since about 2005 I think, (I'm so horrible with dates!) We've always had a lot of the same things in common and have been able to talk about just about everything with one another. He's given me some great advice and we've had some really awesome times together. He's always been encouraging of my endeavors whether they are personal, relational, professional or spiritual. He married one of the most amazing, funny girls I know and in 2009 he and Es packed it up and moved to Des Moines, Iowa where he is now the worship pastor at the awesome Gateway Church. 

I had the opportunity to visit Chris and Es in December and although it was cold...I was blown away by their life in there. Having been born and raised in California my expectations for Iowa were pretty low, and as the Raygun t-shirt appropriately says, Iowa definitely exceeded my already low expectations. They have a great life there and they are changing the face of Des Moines together. They both have an impact on people that I don't think either of them quite understands and what they are doing at Gateway is pretty amazing.

Why should you follow Chris's blog? Well...it's a pretty mellow blog. He doesn't update everyday but when he does it's usually pretty meaningful. He posts a lot about his life with Es and Iowa and he's very transparent. He puts a lot of his life into his blog and you definitely get a sense of who he is from following his blog. He isn't afraind to share the good times and bad, and his flaws along with his strengths. He also shares some of his music there so it's worth checking out. It's just a really great, true to life blog. Simple and Real.

So...here's what you should do! Head on over to Chris' blog and follow it! Follow him on Twitter too; that he updates ALL THE TIME! Funny story about Chris; he used to impersonate me on Twitter. So if you see Nicole Guthary on Twitter well, that's not really me, (even though I do now have ownership of my name on Twitter!)

Friends of knitcole - No Complaints (@Candice_)

It's that time yet again...time to mention another Friend of knitcole! Today's friend, No Complaints otherwise know as Candice B.! (Her last name is hard to spell so I'm cheating by just abbreviating!)

Isn't her little logo just adorable? I know this sweet photo came from her engagement shoot photos which were shot by none other than Jagger Photography!

Candice and I met I am going to guess about 5 years ago, give or take a year! (Forgive me, I'm horrible with knowing what year something happened unless it happened just this year. I'm going to blame my old age!) We hit it off and I remember it like we became instant friends...even though I'm pretty sure we were acquaintances for awhile but I like the way I remember it better! She has been a stellar friend to me. Always there when I need her for the important stuff, the sad stuff, the happy stuff. She is an all around genuine person with a kind heart and a sassy personality! I love her sassyness! We have had our shares of ups and downs and challenges in our friendship but through it all she has remained one of the most constant and loving friends I have. We may not see each other often but anytime we talk it's just a great, genuine conversation. What can I say...I love this girl!

Ok enough of the mush! Why should you follow her you ask...well let me tell you why. Her blog is refreshing and fun. It's simple...a blog about her life as a wife, pet parent, homeowner, lover of many things...you know LIFE! She tries not to complain and usually keeps it lighthearted and fun with lots of pictures. It's just a fun blog that will brighten your day and make you smile and laugh. Plus you get to see adorable pictures of her sweet pup June!

So go check her blog out and follow her! She was so sweet and gave a shout out to yours truly in her post "Handmade Things I Love." She's a huge supporter of mine and I couldn't love her anymore for it! She's definitely one of my biggest fans and I'm so thankful! So pay her a visit!

Friends of knitcole - Jagger Photography

It's time for the third installment of "Friends of knitcole!" Today it's Heather and Grayson Glasby of Jagger Photography.

I can't remember when or how I met Heather but I am SURE that she made an impression! Heather tends to do that. She's a spunky little red head who is full of life and energy. She loves to laugh and have fun but don't let her fool you she can be quite sassy if she needs to! Heather and I always saw each other at various get togethers with out mutual friends and somewhere along the way we just became friends. She's awesome and I love when I hear from her about her adventures in wedding photography or when she has questions about crocheting...I mean there is no one else I would rather sit around and crochet mustaches with! 

Well somewhere along the way she met the man of her dreams. Grayson is just fantastic! He is a simple man who I find always to be extremely pleasant and fun and I just can't think of one bad thing about him. Sometimes I think Grayson and Heather are perfect for one another because they are sort of opposites. Grayson is quiet to Heather's rambunctious and rational to Heather's silly...whatever it is...it just WORKS! They are absolutely adorable together as evidenced by the picture below! 

As wedding photographers they are the best I have ever seen! Heather and Grayson have an eye for detail and all of their photos have amazing composition. Every time there is a post added to their site I am always amazed. Their pictures speak for themselves and this is definitely proven by the fact that they are booked to shoot weddings almost every weekend this year and even part of next! They are dedicated to what they do and when you read their posts or talk to them about it you can tell that they obviously love every minute of it. Friends of knitcole - Los Life Ruiner (@LosLifeRuiner)

It's time for another shout out to the "Friends of knitcole" mentioned on the right sidebar. Today's friend, Carlos "Los" Ocegueda, also known as Los Life Ruiner. Yeah, he ruins lives but it's all good!

Los started out as a friend of a friend. I remember when I first met him he had this ridiculously amazing beard and kind of somewhat resembled some sort of crazy vagabond! I was intrigued...but it would be quite some time until he and I got to know one another on a more personal level. 

Then it happened...Los became my tattoo artist. It started with the deer on my upper arm, then the ball of yarn with knitting needles and crochet hook, a sparrow and then the most amazing of them all...my harmonica and black roses for the one and only Mr. Johnny Cash. 

Over the course of tattoos and hang out seshs Los and I became friends. I don't really know when it happened but I'm so glad that it did. He's a radical man! Hardcore vegan, (I mean the man tattoos all vegan which I find particularly amazing!) gun toting, barber shop going, tattooing, 'merica loving kind of dude! It's fantastic! Apparently he'll ruin your life too...which if that's what he's done to mine then I'm all in! He is a great friend to me and I'm so happy that I have the opportunity to have him in my life. 

Now, for those of you looking for a great tattoo artist...look no further! Los continues to astound me! He has created pieces for me that I constantly receive compliments on and besides the work that I have personally seen on all of our friends, he also posts photos on his blog and I am constantly in awe of what he can do. Here are a couple of his most recent works of art. 

(I about died when I saw that last one, it is soooooooooo good! It makes me want to get tattooed again even more than I already do.)

In addition to being a great tattooist he is also a great painter. Of all the paintings he has posted, here is my favorite. The colors are so vibrant and rich, and the image is just fantastic. 

So in short Los is an awesome guy, great tattooer and a superb artist. You should most definitely check out and follow his blog. You won't regret it, and if you don't follow him...well then you just don't love 'merica as much as he does! ;)
